What they will learn

Subjects available: Science, Geography

Whether your group is studying volcanoes, climate change, plate tectonics, or even economics, there will be an activity to suit your specific learning objectives.

An understanding of the adapting and ever-changing landscape of Iceland is sure to be impressed upon them and leave them with a broader knowledge of science, geography and environmental issues.

Science students will have their subject brought to life by witnessing a variety of geological activity such as volcanoes, geysers and the aftermath of earthquakes, helping them to better understand the physical power of the Earth and the science behind it.

A visit to the Lava Centre will give them the chance to see interactive exhibits on how Iceland monitors its earthquakes and volcanoes and how Iceland itself was first formed.

Geography students will be in awe of Iceland's geographical features and having the concepts from their textbooks brought to life in front of them is something they won't forget.

Taking your geography students to Thingvellir National Park will show them the most spectacular tectonic and volcanic environment and leading them into the Lava Tunnel Raufarholshellir will show them the amazing impact of a volcanic eruption from over 5000 years ago!
