The experience of visiting both Naples and Sorrento will impress upon your students the reality of living in the shadow of a volcano and how the Italians have adapted to this way of life. A chance to see Mount Vesuvius itself and even climb to the summit will impress them even more!
Students will have numerous opportunities to try or make traditional Italian cuisine, and there is much to be discovered about Roman history through the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum - sights they are sure to never forget.

There is much that can be learnt in Naples and Sorrento, with geography students seeing first-hand the effects of volcanic eruption, language students conversing with native Italian speakers, food technology students witnessing Italian cuisine being made and classical studies students exploring the streets of Pompeii.
Taking your geography students to the Archaeological Site of Pompeii will move them to fully comprehend the power of volcanic eruptions and leave them with a newfound excitement for their subject.
A visit to the Phlegraean Fields is a must for geography trips as well, as here they will see steaming fumaroles, boiling mud pools, cinder cones, tuff rings and calderas, teaching them about the wonders of hydrothermal activity.
Food technology students will have the chance to dive into traditional Italian cuisine and witness how various dishes are made with visits to several food establishments, as well as take part in an ice cream making class.
Cooking classes are also available at Mami Camilla Cooking School, where students can cook a 3-course meal under the supervision of a chef, or they can have a go at making traditional Napolitan pizza at a typical Sorrento farm.
Classical studies and languages students will be immersed in Italian culture throughout the trip, with languages students being able to practise their skills with the locals throughout the trip.

Italian languages students can partake in 3 language lessons at our partner language school located on the seafront. Lessons can be tailored to suit your curriculum needs.
Along with sightseeing, groups have the chance to take part in food making classes such as pizza making, mozzarella making and ice cream making, where they can try all their own tasty work at the end!

Flights are available from airports throughout the UK. Your School Travel Adviser will work with you to choose the most suitable flights for your budget and requirements. All our air tours are ATOL protected. Many groups opt to travel by coach, as this is often the cheaper option and is also more environmentally friendly. We work closely with our coach operators to ensure that all health and safety standards are met and that drivers are child-friendly and have been appropriately vetted.
