A trip to New York wouldn't be complete without a visit to the infamous Statue of Liberty, where students will have the chance to take an observatory tour to the top of the landmark, where they will see the best views of New York.

Of course, the Empire State Building is just as iconic, once the tallest building in the world and with 360º views of New York, from here you'll be able to look back at the Statue of Liberty in all its glory and wave at the tiny people at the top!

Other must-sees are Macy's Department Store, the largest department store in the world, the Museum of Modern Art and the American Museum of Natural History.


What they will learn

Subjects available: Maths, History, Design Technology, Religious Education, Business, Art, Fashion and Textiles, Media Studies, Performing Arts, Law Politics

History groups and politics groups studying the civil rights movement will learn a vast amount about social justice with a guided tour of Harlem, showing them several historically significant sites along the way including the site of the Harlem Uprising in 1964.

Along with business studies groups, they will also benefit from a tour of the financial district in New York, with stops including the infamous Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.

Performing arts and media studies groups will, of course, wish to take a trip to Broadway, where they can take part in a selection of workshops focusing on auditioning, singing, dancing and even costume designing.

A guided tour of the spectacular theatres at Lincoln Centre will also leave them star-struck and calling for an encore!

Food technology students will be wowed by a taste of New York pizza on an NYC pizza tour. Students will begin the tour at America's oldest pizzeria and make their way block by block through to Little Italy and Greenwich Village, sampling slices of pizza as they go.

For those with a sweet tooth they can visit the Hershey's Chocolate store in Times Square, feasting their eyes on a wondrous display of the famous Hershey's kisses.
